Ever since its invention in the early 17th Century, Gin is a liquor that we have grown to love and enjoy in its form varietals. But could there be more to it than the refreshing martinis?

Decolorization is a common occurrence with most jewelry that have been off use for long. Whether diamond, silver, or gold, all precious metals, and gemstones are subject to lose their sparkle.

How to clean up a piece of jewelry using Gin.

- Place in the faded piece of jewelry in and allow to soak for 5 minutes.

How Gin fights the red wine stain:
The working principle is as simple as the red pigment in red wine, anthocyanins, being soluble in alcohol. Naturally, gin has a higher proof than wine. Therefore pouring it onto the stain dissolves the red pigment. As more gin is poured onto the stain, the red stain dilutes completely.
- Eliminate foot odour with gin
Anyone with a functioning nose loathes smelly feet. Even people with smelly feet dread upon the thought of having to take of their own shoes. In fact, there is a good number who would rather cancel home visitation out of the fear of having to take of their shoes.
The solution? Gin.
Due to the Juniper flavors in Gin, feet dipped a cocktail of gin and a few drops of thyme oil are known to have the freshest scent.
But it would be pointless to have lavender-smelling feet when the shoes still have the same appalling odor. To fix this, spray some of the gin-based mixture in the shoes and allow to dry. This kills the odour-causing bacteria in the shoes.
- Gin as an all-purpose cleaner
In this day and age, no one wants to spend the whole day cleaning the house. There are better things to do with one’s time than cleaning molds and mildews.
That’s where gin comes in.
Using a spray bottle loaded up with gin, spray on the stubborn spores and let them soak in the alcohol for a few minutes, then wipe away with a damp cloth or sponge.
Gin can also be an effective homemade air freshener. Simply fill a spray bottle with gin and a few drops of essential oil. Spray around in a well-ventilated room. The alcohol will quickly evaporate leaving behind a piney scent of juniper and whatever else is added in it.
