La Mascota Malbec 2016 is an agreeable Malbec of an intense purple-red colour with ruby hues. It is from the classical zone of Cruz de Piedra in Mendoza.
The grapes are from vines growing on the vineyards of Finca La Mascota in Cruz de Pietra, Mendoza. Their fermentation and maceration occur in stainless steel vats for a minimum of 25 days, with temperatures ranging between 23-25ºC.
Natural malolactic fermentation also takes place. This precedes the ageing in new French and American oak barrels for 15 months. Thereafter, comes the filtering and bottling of the wine.
