Drambuie whisky liqueur pours a golden colour and is intriguing with herbal aromas on the nose. There are evident notes of pepper, grass, dried hay, fried flowers, orange peel, and licorice. On the palate, it is sweet, lively and light. Orange notes explode as the whisky body opens up with notes of honey and herbs. The finish is herbal and sweet as the whisky strolls off into the distance.
Drambuie whisky traces its origins back to a secret recipe created in the 18th century. The recipe is passed on for generations and always kept in a safe at the blending facility near Glasgow. As at now, only three people know the recipe, one of who personally mixes each batch.
Fun fact: the name Drambuie is derived from Scots Gaelic ‘A Dram Buidheach’ which means “the drink that satisfies”.
